Cricket-playing mother

Surprised and pleased to find a photo of my mother on the web. Here she is, front right, in the school cricket team in 1935 - yes, cricket. At least I'm pretty sure it's her. The school, Lowther College, used to be at Bodelwyddan Castle, Abergele, North Wales, which now houses a branch of the National Portrait Gallery. http://www.bodelwyddan-castle.co.uk/

SUSIE - sorry, I'm shouting, but SOOOOOO excited!!!! My mother-in-law went to Lowther College! I still have the napkins she hemmed there (which were actually "hand towels") She was sent "home" from Injah, darling, with her sisters and stayed with an aunt during the holidays.

Congrats on blog. I can never seem to keep up with mine!

That's riveting, Lesley! I wonder if she was there with my mother. Sadly I can't ask Ma because she died several years ago. I still miss being able to consult her on these crucial things!
