Solanus, daphne and more wisteria

The daphne in the foreground smells wonderful but of course I planted it too near to the mahonia behind. My florist friend says she loves my garden because I never trim anything.
Potato vine is a mundane name for this solanus, a satisfactory plant that flowers for months.

I'm not sure why this is turning into a garden blog - I didn't intend it that way. I'm not even a serious gardener by Hampshire-lady standards but perhaps it's because the garden has always given me a sense of continuity during our wandering fractured life.

Lots of people whose blogs I read enjoy gardening and it's lovely to see the photos.
By the way, I gave my wisteria some fertiliser. Hope it's grateful!

I'm all for not trimming things too enthusiastically because a certain wildness, or 'naturalness' is so much more pleasing - to me - than the perfectly manicured. Your pictures prove that.

It is difficult to ignore the garden this time of year Susie. Everything is looking spectacular and the fragrance and color draws one into the garden even if you should be inside writing or doing other chores.

I love the less manicured look in a garden. A bit of chaos in the garden is good for all in my opinion. One always feels needed when the garden is a bit chaotic. Such as I need to weed, I need to mow, I need to deadhead...tee hee..
